The Platform Services team, part of the Infrastructure and Cloud Management section within the Information Technology Branch, ensures the smooth operation of enterprise infrastructure solutions that underpin our critical applications. You will lead a team of professionals to ensure the effective planning, development, and delivery of IT systems and services. Your expertise will drive the implementation of processes and procedures to monitor and manage the performance of automated systems, ensuring they meet agreed service levels and maintain data integrity.
We are looking for an experienced Platform Services Team Leader to lead our talented team and drive the delivery of exceptional IT services.
As the Platform Services Team Leader, you will provide leadership across a diverse range of technologies, including but not limited to:
- DB2/Oracle/SQL Server/PostgreSQL Database Administration
- J2EE Middleware Administration
- Linux OS/zOS Administration
- ControlM and Enterprise Monitoring Systems Administration
In this role, you will:
- Identify and manage resources for the planning, development, and delivery of IT systems, services, and products.
- Influence senior-level customers and project teams through effective change management initiatives, ensuring adherence to professional and organisational standards.
- Take responsibility for budgeting, estimating, planning, and setting objectives for the team.
- Plan and manage the implementation of tools and techniques for monitoring and managing automated systems and services.
- Monitor system performance, take corrective action to resolve issues, and provide relevant information to specialists, users, and managers.
- Oversee the installation, upgrading, and control of IT systems and products, ensuring they meet service level agreements and maintain data integrity.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A proven ability to manage and lead teams of varying sizes and skill levels.
- A strong understanding of IT environments, including data centre management, storage lifecycle management, and server management (both physical and virtual).
- Knowledge of project management and Agile principles.
- Experience in operational service delivery management.
A criminal history check will be conducted prior to appointment due to the sensitive nature of this role.
