This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced administrator to take on a position in one of Australia’s largest dispute resolution programs. As a Manager (Conferencing), you will contribute to improvements to dispute resolution services. You will be responsible for projects including developing procedures and manuals. You will be researching, analysing and reporting using various information management systems.

Mandatory requirements or special conditions:

  • This is Regulated employment which includes providing services to people under 18 years of age. Confirmation of employment is conditional upon the preferred applicant being issued with a valid Queensland Working with Children Clearance (Blue Card) which will be linked to Legal Aid Queensland prior to commencing in the role. The successful candidate will play an integral role in the following:

  • Lead the statewide conferencing program for Legal Aid Queensland and ensure a shared commitment to a culture of client service and high performance.
  • Conduct regular one on one meetings with direct reports to provide support for wellbeing, connect on work, career development and growth.
  • Manage the team leaders including achievement development plans (ADP), coaching, provision of performance management and feedback, recruitment, and other human resource activities.
  • Lead in planning, preparation, implementation and evaluation of business improvement projects and change initiatives that expand and enhance dispute resolution services.
  • File reviews
  • Contribute to developing and updating policies and procedures.
  • Prepare templates, operational procedures and manuals to improve processes and provide instructions for conference organisers. Perform research and analysis using Legal Aid Queensland databases, report on dispute resolution activity and performance and provide recommendations for resolution of identified issues.
  • Respond to complaints from clients, external legal practitioners and staff in relation to processes and practices.
  • Liaise with information technology staff in relation to system changes relevant to dispute resolution services. This includes planning and developing of solutions to support services, including developing documentation and performing testing.
  • Provide support to family dispute resolution (FDR) practitioners and arbitrators.
  • Manage Grants of aid including for outlays in line with guidelines and budget parameters.
  • Represent the team in internal forums and maintain networks with relevant stakeholders.

How You Will be Assessed:

The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following capabilities:

  • You have experience leading a team and contribute to the professional development of others. You can plan and implement business improvement projects, including analysing needs of IT systems to support delivery of services.
  • You understand the family dispute resolution process including the organisational framework and policies and can apply the principles of trauma informed practice.
  • You can communicate in a clear, succinct and articulate manner, discuss issues credibly, offer convincing rationale, negotiate persuasively and your advice influences decision making.
