This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced administrator to take on a position in one of Australia’s largest dispute resolution programs. As Team Leader, you will play a key role in enhancing dispute resolution services. You will supervise conference organisers, supporting their professional growth through targeted training and coaching. Additionally, you will manage confidential and complex conferencing and arbitration files, ensuring sensitive matters are handled with discretion and expertise.

Mandatory requirements or special conditions:

  • This is Regulated employment which includes providing services to people under 18 years of age. Confirmation of employment is conditional upon the preferred applicant being issued with a valid Queensland Working with Children Clearance (Blue Card) which will be linked to Legal Aid Queensland prior to commencing in the role. The successful candidate will play an integral role in the following:

  • Supervise Conference Organisers state-wide in the performance of family law dispute resolution conference and arbitration matters.
  • Support the Conferencing Manager by providing regular feedback to direct reports during one-on-one meetings, helping to guide conversations around work priorities, career development and professional growth.
  • Help the Conferencing Manager in completing achievement and development plans by offering input and coaching.
  • Supervise staff, coordinate timesheets and leave, participate in recruitment activities, and promote safety and wellbeing across the team.
  • Develop and manage onboarding and ongoing training of staff.
  • Manage confidential or sensitive family dispute resolution and arbitration files.
  • Conduct file reviews, analyse data from audit results to identify common challenges and make recommendations about training, development, and improving business processes.
  • Coordinate regular training for new and existing Conference Organisers state-wide. Design and deliver training using multiple mediums (e.g. online, face-to-face).
  • Help and guide stakeholders about dispute resolution processes, including through the provision of training and information resources.
  • Collate data for reporting purposes.

How You Will be Assessed:

The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following capabilities:

  • You can supervise a team, assess training needs and contribute to the professional development of others.
  • You have knowledge of legal practices, procedures and terminology, particularly in relation to lawyer assisted family dispute resolution and the principles of trauma informed practice.
  • You can communicate in a clear, succinct and accurate manner including written reports and submissions and can apply organisational policies and guidelines and explain your decisions. You engage effectively with stakeholders and clients with complex needs.
