As the Director, Licensing and Regulatory Interventions, you will be required to provide strategic leadership, management, and coordination in the efficient and effective delivery of:

• Workplace Health and Safety Queensland’s (WHSQ) licensing and authorisations frameworks which include high risk work licensing, asbestos removal licensing, various accreditations, plant item registration and a range of other authorisations;

• The licensing compliance and business engagement program which seeks to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and ultimately the competence of licence and authorisation holders.

The Director, Licensing and Regulatory Interventions, you will:  
Provide OIR's executive management with authoritative, professional and timely advice on licensing trends and issues, business strategies, operational matters, compliance issues and emerging issues relating to licensing services;  

Represent OIR on national technical advisory groups and forums relevant to licensing policy and legislation;  

Influence legislative and policy development to achieve strategic outcomes;  

Provide strategic direction and oversight of the effective and efficient management of licensing and regulatory intervention services by ensuring that systems, policies and processes deliver quality outcomes;  

Develop and nurture the capacity of WHSQ's licensing and regulatory intervention staff to deliver sustainable, contemporary and quality services; and 

Implement contemporary service delivery management strategies through customer relationship building, service channel migration strategies and ongoing business re engineering.
