As the Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team that delivers high-quality data analysis and reporting to support decision-making across trade, employment and training. You will provide strategic advice on data integration, governance and analytics, guide the development of user-friendly business-intelligence solutions and ensure alignment with departmental goals. With a focus on collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement, you will contribute to shaping data-driven strategies while supporting team capability and preparing high-level reports and correspondence.

About the role
As the Manager, Data and Analytics, you will:
• Manage a dedicated team onboarding, wrangling and analysing complex data about trade, employment and training.
• Provide high-level advice on data integration, data governance, data management, architecture and reporting while overseeing organisational information systems or applications.
• Manage the development and maintenance of business intelligence solutions.
• Oversee performance measurement processes to ensure accurate, reliable and appropriate data.
• Network and collaborate with teams to ensure data and analytics solutions align with departmental and best practise standards.
• Foster a corporate culture that values client-focus, innovation and continuous improvement.

What we are looking for
The position requires an applicant who can:
• Lead and manage teams involved in the collection, preparation and interpretation of complex statistical and survey data relating to trade, employment and training.
• Lead and manage data and analytics projects (in a Microsoft data ecosystem) to ensure alignment with best practices and the development of enterprise data systems, the strategic direction and the activities of DTET.
• Collaborate on the development, implementation and evaluation of data and analytics standards and practices across the various teams.
• Collaborate with business areas and develop and build cross department networks to understand data and analytics needs to clarify and prioritise requests for support.
• Evaluate activities and work practices within the roles functional area to ensure they align with best practices, meet evolving corporate goals and optimal the use of resources.
• Identify and recommend solutions to senior management on performance issues affecting trade, employment and training.
• Prepare and review performance reports, discussion papers, briefing notes and correspondence for the Minister and executive management on complex and sensitive matters.
