•Participate in a team of policy officers and scientists to ensure timely, accurate and reliable advice and support to the operational delivery of agvet chemical and contaminant services that protect agricultural production, trade, human health and the environment from agricultural chemical biosecurity threats.

Biosecurity Queensland monitors and regulates the application of agricultural and veterinary chemicals, ensuring they are used safely and in compliance with legislation. Plant Biosecurity and Product Integrity (PBPI) - The PBPI Program has an integral role in delivering BQ's vision of leading the delivery of innovative, customer focused biosecurity services for Queensland. The Program's goal is to protect Queensland's agricultural industries, environment and communities from plant pests and diseases, and facilitate trade in high quality, safe agricultural products.

As our Senior Biosecurity Officer (Product Integrity) you will use your specialist knowledge, expertise, and experience to provide guidance and support to internal and external stakeholders on complex agvet chemicals (registration, residue and use) and contaminants in agriculture. Your contributions will assist Queensland build and maintain agricultural trade, its unique environment and our amazing lifestyle.  

You will know you're achieving success in the role when you:  
•    Build and maintain effective professional working relationships, and collaboration with operational field officers, scientists, specialists, team members, industry and community members, as well as management 
•    Can manage a workload with competing priorities, ensuring your contributions to team, are undertaken promptly and effectively 
•    Actively contribute to team and organisational capability and develop and maintain specialist knowledge, contemporary awareness and understanding of state and national developments in agvet chemicals (registration, residues and use) and contaminants

It is a requirement for all Biosecurity Queensland positions to have a criminal history check completed.
