As Director, Financial Accounting and Revenue Management, you'll lead the work that underpins the department's financial integrity, compliance and decision-making.

Your work will centre on delivering high-quality financial accounting and revenue services, including statutory reporting, asset accounting and the preparation of annual financial statements. You'll interpret and apply financial legislation, policy and standards, monitor compliance with the financial management framework, and provide authoritative advice to executive management on land and mining tenure revenue and related policy matters.

You'll guide the development of financial policy and assess the financial impacts of departmental reforms and initiatives, ensuring risks, obligations and opportunities are clearly understood. Alongside this, you'll drive continuous improvement in financial and revenue processes, lead and develop high-performing teams, and deliver customer-focused services that support strong internal and external partnerships. The role also involves representing the department in high-level forums with key stakeholders, including Queensland Treasury and the Queensland Audit Office, and contributing to the Finance vision through strategic advice, collaboration and the delivery of divisional priorities.

What we're looking for:

  • Relevant accounting qualification and CPA/CA or equivalent status
  • Strategic and operational leadership capabilities
  • Strong stakeholder management and communications skills
  • Experience is managing financial accounting services
  • Experience in managing and developing teams
