In the role of Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall project management of the Bremer River Bridge Rehabilitation project. Using your engineering qualifications and specialist knowledge you will be co-ordinating the implementation and application of structures works within TMR specifications and standards.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Lead, monitor, review and report on the Bremer River Bridge civil infrastructure project (this project is considered to be of a high risk or high level of complexity).
• Conduct reviews and proactively intervene to ensure the project is on track to meet the project objectives and targets.
• Guide, mentor, coach and develop project staff to develop internal capability.
• Provide expert advice on construction methodologies and contract management issues.
• Development of procurement strategies for specialist suppliers and equipment.
• Prepare reports, contract documents and technical specifications.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• A Four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.
• Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
• Requirement to mentor and supervise the work of non RPEQ's.
• A current Class ‘C' Drivers Licence
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
• Requirement to undertake night work when required, as per project and operational requirements
• TMR has a Drug and Alcohol Policy which applies to all Employees, Workers and Visitors to TMR workplaces. This may include random, post incident and reasonable suspicion testing during employment to ensure a safe and healthy workplace.

Desirable requirements
• Working knowledge of technical specifications and Australian Standards for the construction and maintenance of bridges and other road structures.
• Experience in managing the delivery of complex contracts in the areas of road structure design, construction and maintenance.
