The Passenger Rollingstock and Signalling (PRS) Branch is delivering and managing rollingstock and signalling projects that are innovative, integrated and accessible to meet the growing demand for rail services in South East Queensland. The Queensland Government's Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) was established to meet the increasing demand for rail transport in South East Queensland over the next 10 years.
About the role:
The purpose of the Manager (Communications and Engagement) for QTMP is to lead a team of professionals in the provision of strategic and operational communications and engagement services including media relations, digital and social media and stakeholder relationship management.
In this dynamic and fast paced role, you will shape and deliver communications and engagement strategies that support the successful planning, delivery and implementation of QTMP. You will ensure the community, stakeholders and project partners are well informed, actively engaged, and confident in the project's progress and benefits.
This is a great opportunity to play a key leadership role in QTMP and build trusted relationships with a broad and diverse stakeholder network, including government agencies, industry partners, community groups, elected representatives, and internal project teams.
Skills and experience:
- Ability to lead a team and/or a project, while empowering others to take ownership for the delivery and quality of outcomes achieved.
- Strong communication, engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to tailor messages to resonate with stakeholders of diverse interests and backgrounds.
- Promotes integrity in the management and use of processes and resources.
- Embraces change and leads with focus and optimism in an environment of complexity and ambiguity.
- Demonstrated ability to lead strategically, recognising and articulating how the team's work contributes to the organisation's vision and community outcomes.
- A relevant tertiary qualification i.e. Communications, Journalism or Public Relations would be highly regarded.
- Certification in International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) would be highly regarded
- Experience in a strategic communication or community/project engagement role in an environment dealing with major infrastructure projects.
