You’ll contribute to maintaining and improving spatial systems while supporting users and assisting with testing, documentation and enhancement activities. This role suits someone with strong analytical and communication skills who enjoys problem solving and working with spatial technologies.Georesources capitalises on Queensland’s minerals, coal, petroleum and gas resources. Mining is the number one wealth generating sector in the state and the work done in this division plays a key role in regulating the resources sector, while also supporting industry development and sector growth. As a Spatial Systems Officer within the Spatial Systems Directorate, you will help maintain, monitor and enhance spatial applications that support critical land, surveying and spatial information services. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will apply your spatial systems knowledge, customer service capability and analytical skills to ensure key applications remain reliable, functional and well supported during
a period of digital modernisation. Over the twelve-month period, you will play a key role in supporting the transformation of critical land and surveying systems within the department. You will use your high-level skills in customer service, stakeholder engagement, user acceptance testing, time management and knowledge of spatial system technologies and land surveying to ensure the successful delivery of the new systems. You will also contribute to a significant transformation initiative as the Directorate implements new spatial systems and integrations, aimed at modernising the spatial systems platform that supports both the department and the broader community.

o Communicate, collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders
o Analyse and problem-solve, particularly showcasing experiences in supporting, maintaining or enhancing spatial systems or similar digital tools
o Manage competing priorities and deliver work within timeframes to contribute effectively to projects
o Demonstrate technical capability with spatial and digital technologies, such as the ArcGIS suite, Microsoft 365, workflow automation, databases, integration software and scripting tools. It would be advantageous if the applicant can outline any experience with survey plan processing.
