Ranger (Fire Planning) 
Are you passionate about fire management and conservation? Join the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, Central Region's Fire Team to help plan and deliver the Region's fire program.

As a Ranger (Fire Planning), you will play a key role in developing fire strategies for protected areas, contributing to burn plans, key value assessments, monitoring and policy reviews. You will also support operational work units across the region, ensuring the effective delivery of fire management programs. 

This role offers a balance of outdoor and indoor responsibilities. You will refine your practical and teamwork skills while tackling both familiar and complex challenges. Your duties will include burn program development and approvals, regional wildfire preparedness and response procedures as well as planned burn and response planning and intelligence functions.

To succeed in this role, you'll need: 
* Fire management skills and experience
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure
* Organisational and planning expertise
* A commitment to workplace health and safety (both physical and psychological)
* Self-motivation and the ability to work independently
* Administration, reporting, and computer skills

Requirements: 
* A manual driver's licence is essential.
* While tertiary qualifications are not required, formal qualifications in fire management will be highly regarded.
* You must be willing and able to travel regularly, including extended deployments and after-hours work. This may involve camping overnight in remote areas.
* A reasonable level of fitness is required to meet the demands of the role.

This position is based in the Central Region, with the location negotiable. Please note that no accommodation is provided for this role.
