The Department of Women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships and Multiculturalism is responsible for fostering an environment that allows Queensland women to be economically secure. In this role, you will
- Provide High-Level Legal and Justice Advice: Deliver expert analysis, advice, and leadership on complex legal and justice matters affecting the department, government, and diverse stakeholders, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Legislative Guidance: Offer advice on the legislation administered by the department, including the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities (Justice, Land and Other Matters) Act 1984, Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2003, and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Heritage Act 2003, as well as related legislative intersections.
- Strategic Advisory Role: Provide strategic advice to senior management, the Director-General, and the Minister on legal and justice issues, including risk identification and mitigation strategies.
- Project Leadership and Management: Lead and manage complex legal projects to achieve the department's and government's strategic goals and objectives.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Consultation: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including legal representatives, Crown Law, and Counsel, to address legal and justice-related matters impacting the department
