An AO6 Senior Analyst - Level 2 vacancy is available in the Analytics division of the Queensland Revenue Office. This is temporary full-time position with a duration of up to 30 June 2027.

In this role, you will be part of the Business Intelligence Branch. The role provides an opportunity to use your expertise and creativity to produce innovative, high impact reporting solutions.

Your typical day as a Senior Analyst - Level 2 may include:
•  Instruct and guide a team of data analysts in the use of business intelligence and data analysis tools to interrogate and analyse complex data sets, including confidential financial information from a range of sources.
• Coordinate the provision of sophisticated ad hoc reports that are required by clients and senior management using reporting tools such as, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Power BI, Alteryx and Excel.
• Research, identify trends, develop data modelling tools and reports to articulate business need requirements to enable development of strategies and solutions to address current and future problems/issues.
• Maintain knowledge of best practice data management techniques to ensure data presentation and sharing meets customer needs.
• Provide advice and develop guidelines on analytical practices and tools to support QRO objectives. 

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate:
• Experience in processing and analysing data - a high level of competency in SQL and data analytic/integration tools (e.g. Excel, Power BI, Alteryx, SAP Analytics Cloud, Data Factory, Data Bricks). 
• Experience in preparing, presenting and reviewing timely information, reports, submissions, and documentation of a complex nature. 
• Ability to demonstrate high attention to detail, apply effective judgement, communication and understanding of perspectives in developing solutions and working with others.
• Ability to liaise, negotiate and communicate, both verbally and in writing, with customers and management.
• Ability to think critically, prioritise and organise tasks for completion in a time pressured environment.
