• Strategic Projects team, responsible for delivering high profile strategic policy projects that positively impact the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the state.
• Economic and Social Policy team, responsible for leading economic & social policy initiatives and advice to enable Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islander people.

About Women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships and Multiculturalism
The Department of Women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships and Multiculturalism is responsible for fostering an environment that allows Queensland women to be economically secure. We work closely with other agencies, peak bodies, local leaders, and the community to lift the living standards of Aboriginal communities and Torres Strait Islander communities. We facilitate an environment where multicultural communities want to call Queensland home by harnessing their skill and expertise and celebrating the cultural diversity of our State.

In this role, you will
• Undertake research and analyse impacts into complex Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander policy and program issues on socio-economic outcomes for these communities.
• Plan, monitor, and report on projects in line with departmental standards and system requirements.
• Prepare strategic advice, submissions, and briefing papers in collaboration with internal and external partners to inform decision-making.
• Prepare and develop papers on complex policy issues for Government consideration, including Cabinet and CBRC submissions, legislative processes, and parliamentary matters.
• Engage in liaison, negotiation, and consultation with government, nongovernment sectors, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations, stakeholders and other groups to foster collaboration and inclusivity.
• Facilitate and respond to consultation processes with stakeholders to ensure policies and programs reflect community input.
• Build and maintain networks across government and community to support policy development, management, and monitoring.
• Identify, manage, and report risks associated with departmental work to ensure accountability and compliance.
• Support organisational strategy, direction and initiatives.

Positions are available in the following teams:

Strategic Projects team: Responsible for delivering high-profile strategic policy projects that positively impact the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the state (one permanent role available).
Economic and Social Policy Team:  Responsible for leading economic and social policy initiatives and advice to enable Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islander people to contribute to, and enjoy, Queensland's prosperity and lifestyles (one permanent role available).
Closing the Gap Policy team: Responsible for coordinating delivery of Queensland's commitments under the Closing the Gap National Agreement (one temporary role available to 30 June 2027).
