Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is looking for a capable and confident Project Advisor (AO5) to join our Customer and Stakeholder Management team in Central Queensland on a temporary basis.
In this role, you'll provide strategic communication and engagement advice to project teams and leadership, supporting the delivery of the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP). You'll work across high‑profile infrastructure projects, helping communities, stakeholders and decision‑makers understand what's happening, why it matters, and what to expect.
This is a fast‑paced, influential role where you'll balance planning, problem‑solving and relationship building—often at the point where projects, politics and communities intersect.
What you'll do
• Lead project and program stakeholder and community engagement activities
• Prepare high‑quality ministerial, executive and project correspondence and briefings
• Support media management, issues escalation and reputation management
• Plan and deliver communication and engagement strategies across project lifecycles
• Coordinate community events, briefings and media opportunities
• Provide advice and guidance to project teams on best‑practice engagement and governance
What we're looking for
You are a confident advisor who:
• Communicates clearly and credibly with diverse stakeholders
• Can manage sensitive issues and competing priorities
• Has experience in stakeholder engagement, communications, media, public affairs or government environments
• Understands governance, confidentiality and public accountability
• Builds trust and provides practical, solutions‑focused advice
Experience working on infrastructure, capital programs or within government will be highly regarded.
Mandatory requirements
• Current Class C driver licence
• Criminal history check required due to access to sensitive information
