Key responsibilities:
• Apply contemporary project management and survey principles, relevant to your level of experience and expertise.
• Apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary for the surveying of road infrastructure projects.
• Maintain a safe work site by applying risk management principles and following OH&S procedures.
• Lead small teams in producing field surveys using equipment such as total stations and GNSS.
• Under the direction of the Surveyor, work as part of a team on surveys required for road infrastructure projects.
• Provide support, advice and training for the development of Graduate Surveyors, Cadet Technologists and Survey Assistants on standards, work practices, processes and survey techniques to ensure best practice is achieved.
• Perform equipment and tool maintenance.
• Actively participate in process improvement.
• Maintain effective liaison and communication with all levels of internal and external stakeholders on all matters relating to the execution of the survey.
• Analyse, interpret and report on data from the systems using appropriate reporting and software presentation tools.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions:
• A current Class ‘C' Driver's License
Desirable requirements:
• Experience in performing survey capture as per the TMR Surveying Standards.
• Experience using Trimble Instrumentation and Controllers.
• Experience using 12d Model.
Requirements of the role:
• Survey: Demonstrates a basic understanding of surveying practice primarily with regard to the capture of Ground and Feature Model data.
• Data and Information Acquisition: Understands and applies knowledge of data and information acquisition under the guidance of an experienced professional surveyor.
• Teamwork and Collaboration: Demonstrates ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Communication: Communicates effectively by listening and articulating a response according to audience needs by employing written and oral techniques.
• Individual Planning: Organises and plans own work for maximum effectiveness.
• Safety: Enhances safety and improves safety practices within the work environment.
