Senior Ranger (Compliance)

The Coastal and Islands Region covers a diverse landscape stretching from the world’s largest sand island, World Heritage-listed K’gari, (Fraser Island) to the Southern Bay Islands in the south.

In this role, you’ll manage the Automatic Number Plate Recognition System (ANPRS) and oversee compliance actions and data management. Key responsibilities include analysing system data, identifying infringements under the RAM Act, conducting investigations, managing data storage, and preparing reports.

You’ll also provide expert advice and guidance to the team, addressing escalated or complex compliance issues and supporting the development of solutions for approval. This role is vital in ensuring effective compliance and protecting our unique environments.

• Excellent knowledge of protected area legislation. e.g. Nature Conservation Act 1992, Recreation Areas Management Act 2006, Marine Parks Act 2004
• Strong communications skills and the ability to deliver training and mentoring to internal staff, external agencies and First Nations groups.
• Ability to build sustainable relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Strong problem solving and resolution skills.
• High level analytical and data presentation skills
