Join our operational team dedicated to great planning and management of parks and forests within South East Queensland Region. As a Senior Project Officer, you will be a key contributor to enhancing our parks and forest for visitors and nature conservation. South East Queensland (SEQ)Region, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, is seeking a senior project officer to lead delivery of a range of planning and on-ground projects associated with newly-acquired properties in the Greater Brisbane area. The role will operate within a collaborative team environment and will plan and deliver projects, with support from relevant technical and operational staff.
SEQ is the most densely populated and rapidly growing region in Queensland, and the high urban and peri-urban interface presents several challenges including high recreation pressures on parks and forests. This role may also contribute to planning associated with these visitor management challenges elsewhere in the SEQ Region.

In this role, you'll play a key part in planning and delivering projects to help ensure the protection and management of important natural and recreational values close to the city of Brisbane.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess:
· proven experience in park or recreation precinct planning and site assessment and design
· strong skills in project management, procuring and overseeing contractors and delivering successful on-ground outcomes in regard to visitor, asset, pest and fire management
· excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders, coordinating and running meetings, and preparing high-quality written briefs and other materials
· a track record of proactive team membership and the ability to foster a collaborative work environment
· a commitment to working with First Nations peoples to integrate their rights and interest in park management, and
· knowledge and skills relevant to public land and/or protected area management.
