Judicial Executive Secretary
Supreme District & Land Courts Service; Queensland Courts Service; Courts and Tribunal Services; Brisbane City
• provide confidential secretarial, administrative, digital dictation/word-processing and personal support to the Judges;
• maintain effective office systems (manual and computerised) which support the Judiciary;
• maintain effective office time management practices by prioritising correspondence, coordination of meetings and appointments and attention to the diaries of Judge where necessary;
• arrange meetings, appointments, travel details (including making arrangements for flights and accommodation), functions (including catering) when required;
• screen visitors and incoming telephone calls to avoid unnecessary interruptions, and attend to all visitors extending suitable hospitality;
• maintain administrative spreadsheets and/or databases as required;

• Demonstrated ability to provide a high quality standard of efficient, effective and confidential business support (administrative and secretarial support, diary management, travel and accommodation arrangements and correspondence tracking) to two Judges of the Supreme Court of Queensland.
• Demonstrated high level of computer literacy in software applications including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and email (Outlook). Also the ability to use a digital dictation transcription system (such as Philips SpeechExec).
• Proven excellent organisational abilities, including an ability to problem solve, establish work priorities, manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and manage workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and maintain effective working relationships with senior officers, court staff and with external clients.
• Demonstrated professional approach to work and prompt and courteous provision of service with ability to use initiative to work autonomously and the need for confidentiality and the utmost discretion.
• General understanding of the legal system, legal terminology and the operation of the courts.
• Contributes to workplace equity, diversity, respect and inclusion that enriches our culture of respect and inclusion.
• Behaves in an ethical, respectful and culturally sensitive manner.
