Senior Project Officer (Social and Community Housing Design)

Join Housing Growth and play a key role in shaping the future of social housing design and development.

This role manages and enhances Housing Growth's design reference documents, including standards, guidelines and specifications.

Working with a range of stakeholders, you will provide expert design advice, develop evidence-based recommendations, support design reviews, and contribute to standardised building and product specifications. You will also prepare high-quality written and graphic materials and represent Housing Growth in key forums.

This is an excellent opportunity to influence the quality and design of Queensland's social housing portfolio

What you will be doing:

  • Managing Housing Growth's requirements regarding design and property related standards and associated interactions with stakeholders.
  • Developing, as part of a team, standardised building, material and product specifications and schedules to complement the existing suite of design reference information.
  • Interpreting and applying regulations and standards relating to building industry practices, terminology and products.
  • Providing evidence-based recommendations about social housing assets through analysis and interpretation of property related data.
  • Supporting the Design Team Manager in conducting design reviews and reviewing design related documents.  
  • Providing high level written and graphic submissions with a capacity to advise, negotiate and consult on significant issues with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaising extensively with, and providing advice to, other business units within the department, about design and property related issues.
  • Representing Housing Growth at meetings, workshops and other forums as required.
  • Supporting and helping to maintain a workplace safety culture, by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of day-to-day operations.
