This is an opportunity to take on varied, meaningful work that helps support fair, practical and effective regulation across sectors that affect people's homes, housing choices and quality of life in Queensland. The role sits within Regulatory Services and contributes to the administration of legislation relating to community housing, residential services, manufactured homes and retirement villages.

As a Senior Regulatory Compliance Officer, the focus is on leading and supporting regulatory compliance work, using sound judgement, strong analysis and clear communication to help achieve effective outcomes.

What this role will be doing

- Lead and support Regulatory Compliance Officers and other staff to carry out registration, accreditation, compliance and review assessments, complaints investigations and enforcement action.

- Analyse and assess organisational and business-specific data, policies, procedures, forms, registers and other evidence documents linked to registration, accreditation, compliance and offences under relevant legislation.

- Use professional judgement and sound decision-making to provide timely, evidence-based advice, options and recommendations.

- Build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders, including service providers, resident representative bodies and relevant government agencies, to support understanding of sector issues and achieve effective regulatory outcomes.

- Provide advice on current and emerging risks and issues affecting regulated industries and consumers, and contribute to practical, forward-thinking responses that improve outcomes and reduce unnecessary regulatory burden.

- Contribute to the development, implementation and review of industry-wide engagement and compliance strategies and plans.

- Prepare and present high-quality documentation that reflects sound assessment, evidence-based findings and clear recommendations.

- Coordinate resources, workflows and activities to deliver on priorities within agreed timeframes and quality expectations.

- Support a positive team culture built on collaboration, communication, cultural capability, flexibility and continuous improvement.
