This role is based in the Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems Team, which is within the Waste and Enforcement Services branch of the Environmental Services and Regulation (ESR) division. The Waste and Enforcement Services Branch delivers strategic support and compliance capabilities to all of the Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation.

As an Administration Officer (AO3) you will be focussed on performing a range of administrative tasks to contribute to business delivery. This will include support in administration, service delivery, finance, human resources, asset management, travel bookings, procurement and facilities for the work unit, and at times the broader branch.

     The role as the Administration Officer, RPAS, you will:

  • Provide efficient, timely administrative support to the Chief Remote Pilot, Deputy-Chief Remote Pilot & Maintenance Controller, Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) team, and Remote Pilots of the RPAS team.
  • Establish and maintain positive stakeholder relationships, both internal and external.
  • Undertake data entry, analysis and reporting to support business delivery.
  • Coordinate and deliver travel management services for staff.
  • Interrogate, enter data, maintain, and support corporate systems and databases.
  • Set priorities and monitor workflow.
  • Provide customers with a variety of information.
  • Support coordination of financial information (e.g., reconciliation reports, corporate card expenditure).
  • Support the purchase and management of assets, inventory items and other goods and services.
  • Support the coordination of events including workshops and meetings.
  • Support the identification and implementation of relevant business improvement initiatives.
  • Support the delivery of ad hoc advice and reports on business unit activities.
  • Support the application of Human Resource related activities such as Induction.
  • Coordinate facilities, telecommunications and IT related activities.
  • Support business functions i.e., aircraft registration, training and education, etc.
  • Utilise the department's ministerial and executive correspondence system.
  • Coordinate asset stocktakes.
  • Coordinate and manage pool vehicles.
  • Support the coordination and delivery of priority training needs.
  • Provide facilities management support to management.
  • Promote a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace that is free from bullying, discrimination and harassment.
