Project Engagement Advisor

Join Transport and Main Roads as a Project Engagement Advisor and help deliver important road and transport projects that benefit communities across Central Queensland. Working closely with project managers, technical specialists and senior leaders, you'll provide strategic communication and stakeholder engagement advice, coordinate consultation activities, manage community and media enquiries, and develop clear, engaging communications. You'll play a key role in building positive relationships with communities, local stakeholders and government representatives while supporting the successful delivery of the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP). Based in Mackay or Rockhampton, this is an opportunity to work on meaningful infrastructure projects, develop your communication expertise and contribute to outcomes that make a difference for Queenslanders.

Transport and Main Roads are seeking motivated Project Engagement Advisors to join our Central Queensland Region team. Based in Mackay or Rockhampton, you'll play an important role in supporting the delivery of major road and transport infrastructure projects that improve safety, connectivity and liveability for Queensland communities.
About the role:
As a Project Engagement Advisor, you'll work alongside project managers, engineers and senior leaders to deliver strategic communication and stakeholder engagement activities across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects. You'll help ensure communities, stakeholders and decision-makers are informed, engaged and supported throughout project delivery.
Working as part of a collaborative team, you'll provide trusted advice on communication planning, community consultation, issues management and stakeholder relationships while helping protect and enhance the department's reputation.
Key responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
• Provide strategic communication and stakeholder engagement advice to project teams and leadership.
• Develop and deliver communication and engagement strategies for infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate community consultation activities, events, road openings and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
• Prepare project communications, media responses, briefing notes, executive correspondence and other communication materials.
• Build productive relationships with community members, local government, industry stakeholders and internal teams.
• Identify and manage emerging issues and risks impacting project delivery and reputation.
• Support a customer-focused culture by sharing knowledge and contributing to continuous improvement.
