Join Arts Queensland in a key management role within the Arts Property and Facilities team as the Manager – Capital Works during the delivery of a range of exciting government initiatives. This role leads a diverse team of project and specialist roles who work to deliver the Asset Renewal Program and associated works, oversees risk and project management (including financial management), and provides technical and high level support to the Director – Arts Property and Facilities. Your practical experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams, managing annual risk management programs in a large scale, public facing environment, and high level knowledge of contract management and procurement practices will be highly regarded.

The role provides key leadership in relation to the delivery of facilities management operations, including the delivery of the capital maintenance program, technical and due diligence audits and lifecycle and minor work projects at portfolio owned buildings.

 Key responsibilities –

  • Provide strong leadership and management of a multi-disciplinary team in order to deliver the annual Capital Maintenance Program and associated minor works and condition-based maintenance projects, and ensure business and project planning resources are managed effectively.
  • Oversee the engagement, management and coordination of the annual risk management programs and corporate governance protocols to ensure that corporate and statutory risks are effectively managed.
  • Manage the preparation, implementation and delivery of the annual works programs including managing projected timeframes, cash flow and financial management in accordance with organisational requirements. 
  • Implement effective performance and contract management practices through the procurement and engagement of contractors to ensure that approved works packages meet with time, scope, quality, cost outcomes and safe work practices.
  • Provide technical advice and high level support to the Director, Arts Property and Facilities on the management, coordination, planning and delivery of the annual capital maintenance program of works and risk management programs.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures and policies to ensure that the management and delivery of works within Arts Queensland's property portfolio adheres Government  policies and frameworks and is compliant with relevant legislative, regulations, standards, codes of practice and service delivery demands.
  • Manage the timely preparation of well researched correspondence, reports, briefings and submissions to the Minister, Senior Executive Management and internal and external  stakeholders.
  • The role has supervisory responsibilities for the following positions:
    • Principal Project Officers  - Capital Works (AO7) x 3

You will report to the Director, Arts Property and Facilities.
