Arts Queensland (AQ), now part of Department of Education, we are looking for a Senior Manager - Legal to work within our Legal Services team, which is part of Agencies, Governance & Infrastructure (AG&I).

As Senior Manager - Legal you will provide independent and objective legal advice and services for the Minister, Director-General, senior leaders and staff relating to a wide range of sensitive and high-level issues across the Arts portfolio, as well as advice on a range of public administration matters affecting the Department, including insurance claims, conflicts of interest, complaints and investigations/reviews, compliance, right to information and privacy, Cabinet, legislative and policy matters.

In addition, you will manage the day-to-day activities of the Legal Services team and provide professional and administrative oversight and supervision of the Senior Lawyer.

Arts Queensland is looking for a fixed-term temporary full-time Senior Manager - Legal (PO6) for 12 months with possible extension to come and work with us.

Additional Information:

  • Salary: $166,374 - $175,815 p.a. (total renumeration)
  • Generous leave entitlements
  • Fixed-term temporary full-time for 12 months with possible extension with professional development opportunities
  • Please note a probationary period (up to 6 months) may apply to new employees of Arts Queensland in accordance with section 315 of the Industrial Relations Act 2016
  • Please also note as part of pre-employment checks, suitable candidates may be required to undertake:
    • A criminal history check under section 52 of the Public Sector Act (PSA) 2022
    • Complete a serious discipline history check (if required) under section 71 of the PSA
    • Disclose any interest/s that conflict, may conflict or may be perceived to conflict with the discharge of their duties in accordance with Division 2 of the PSA.
