Senior Manager - Backing Indigenous Arts (Identified: Australian First Nations)

Arts Queensland (AQ), now part of Department of Education, is looking for an AO8 Senior Manager, Backing Indigenous Arts (BIA) (Identified) in our First Nations Arts team for a temporary fixed term of 12 months, with the possibility of extension.
The Senior Manager, BIA will contribute to the delivery of the BIA initiatives and other funding programs to deliver benefits for First Nations artists, organisations, and the broader arts sector.
This position provides strategic guidance and leadership to a team of client Managers, external clients, and service providers across Queensland, predominantly in North and Far North Queensland.

Arts Queensland is looking for a temporary flexible full-time AO8 Senior Manager - BIA (Identified), to work with us.
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Have a strong understanding of community needs and dynamics
- Have a proven ability to manage people and programs ideally in a public sector, not-for-profit or community organisation
- Be client focused with a drive for progressing work tasks and identifying solutions
- Model culturally safe and effective service delivery
- Be able to undertake intrastate travel as required for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and manage relationships with funded organisations (for profit and not-for-profit), government, private sector organisations and industry groups that support a thriving creative sector, with particular focus on maximising the impact of Government investment for First Nations artists and organisations.
- Manage and support staff in the delivery of funding programs, service delivery contracts, evaluation, reporting, and acquittal processes, working with the Director, First Nations Arts, to achieve the objectives of specific investment programs and Queensland's Time to Shine: A 10-Year Strategy for Arts and Culture 2025-2035.
- Collaboratively design innovative approaches and strategically apply commercial acumen in identifying and pursuing new opportunities and investments that deliver meaningful benefits for First Nations artists, arts organisations and the broader art sector.
- Broker and build productive and mutually beneficial relationships with stakeholders across all levels of Government, and leaders within communities, and industries to contribute to sustainable partnerships that will grow the State's arts and cultural sector and foster a strong community of arts.
- Conduct high level research, analysis and problem solving to prepare clear, concise, and evidence-based reports that inform future strategy and business cases for arts development and sustainability.
- Lead relationship management and capacity building with Indigenous Art Centres and First Nations festivals through the Backing Indigenous Arts Initiative.
- Utilising your knowledge, experience, and expertise you will contribute to the shaping of government policy and manage arts investment to deliver upon Government priorities for Queensland.
- Provide strategic advice to the Deputy Director-General, Executive Director Policy and Programs and the broader senior management team.
