A range of Older Persons Health and Rehabilitation Services are provided to the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service, across the care continuum. These include inpatient care, Memory and other Specialist Clinics, Residential Care in-reach, Adult Community Health, Transition Care, Rapid Response Falls Service, Geriatric Emergency Department Intervention, Outreach and GEMS in the home service. The position reports to the Clinical Director, Older Persons Sub-Acute and Rehabilitation Unit and is responsible to the relevant Director of Medical Services for the provision of Specialist Geriatrician input to inpatients, outpatients and community dwelling older persons.

Remuneration value up to $497 941 p.a. (L25 – L27) or Remuneration value up to $455 624 p.a. (L18 – L24), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%), annual leave loading (17.5%), professional development allowance, motor vehicle allowance, professional development leave 3.6 weeks p.a., plus private practice arrangements.

Purpose of the role

As a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist Geriatric Medicine you will be a valuable and valued team member.  You will work with the Clinical Director Older Person, Subacute and Rehabilitation, to ensure Geriatrics services we provide are of the highest standard and are delivered safely, reliably and efficiently.

Your opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist Geriatric Medicine to facilitate the delivery of high-quality care to patients of the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service.
