An exciting opportunity currently exists for you to join the Sexual Health Service team as a Health Promotion Officer. You will deliver health promotion and community engagement activities that enable and increase sexual health literacy for clients, provision of sexual health services for communities, and the provision of environments that enable safe sexual health and wellbeing for the people of Cairns and Hinterland region.

About us: Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers an area of 142,900 square kilometres. We go as far as Tully in the south, Cow Bay in the north and Croydon in the west.
About your role:
- Plan, implement, and evaluate capacity building, community mobilisation, and education initiatives addressing sexual health literacy in line with evidence based health promotion and community engagement practices.
- Co-design and maintain evidence based, culturally safe online and printed health promotion content and resources. This may include a focus on myth busting to encourage community awareness of CSHS and avenues to bolster sexual health literacy.
- In collaboration with the Senior Public Health Officer: Participate in community-based research and evaluation initiatives in line with CHHHS Consumer Engagement Policies, and translate the evidence into information that health workers, stakeholders and the public can use.
