An exciting opportunity currently exists for you to join the Access Services team as a Psychologist, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist - Advanced (Allied Health Clinician). You will be responsible for leading and delivering clinical mental health triage services, including tele-triage and tele-health assessment to consumers of the Cairns and Hinterland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (MHAODS) in conjunction with the Consultant Psychiatrist and broader clinical team.

About us: The outer western region of our service includes extremely remote communities. Cairns Hospital is the only major referral hospital in Far North Queensland and also provides care for people from Cape York and the Torres Strait.

About you:

In your new role you will: 

• Deliver high quality evidence based clinical services (including tele-triage, tele-health assessments, generic and profession specific biopsychosocial mental health assessment and intervention for consumers across the lifespan in accordance with professional and ethical standards.
• Undertake clinical governance activities, such as the development of clinical practices, procedures and guidelines that support the continuum of care.
• Take a leadership role in initiating, planning and evaluating quality activities, evidence based practice, clinical research programs and local service improvement activities as delegated.
