About us:
Emerald is the principal town of the Central Highlands division of Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service. Central Highlands provides Health Services at four hospitals, Emerald, Blackwater, Springsure, Woorabinda and provides primary health and or outpatient services at facilities in the Gemfields, Tieri and Capella. Capella has a population of 974 (2021 Census) and is located 52 km north of Emerald.
About the role:
The NP will provide an advanced level of care with clinical expertise and specialised skills in accordance with his/her scope of practice within the Chronic and Primary Care area. This includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for patients in a rural setting. The NP will have the authority to order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmacological and non- pharmacological therapies, and provide direct referral to other healthcare professionals, whilst functioning within their credentialed scope of practice. The NP will work with multidisciplinary teams and local General Practice to provide holistic care to clients in a designated setting, including acute, community and primary care settings within the Central Highlands.
About you:
- Mandatory qualification/s: Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a current annual practicing certificate is essential. A Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) qualification with AHPRA endorsement is an essential requirement of this position.
- Demonstrated ability to act as an advocate for nursing in a broad context using positive role modelling and adherence to CQHHS values.
- Demonstrated ability to provide nursing leadership in a multidisciplinary environment and demonstrate sound knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and theory.
- Demonstrated advanced clinical evidence-based knowledge in Rural nursing, care coordination and interdisciplinary care management, evidenced by recency of practice and achieved clinical and professional competencies.

Total remuneration value of up to $112,292 p.a. is comprised of:
- A hourly rate between $75.27 - $78.59 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
