About us:

Gemfields Primary Care Clinic is based in Sapphire Gemfields area, 64 km from Emerald. The Primary Care Clinic operates 5 days per week servicing a diverse population with high level of chronic disease across the townships of Sapphire, Rubyvale, Anakie, and Willows. The resident population is approximately 2000, which increases significantly throughout the winter months.

The clinic is operated by the Nurse Unit Manager, an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse 5days per week and Medical Officer 3 days per week. Queensland Ambulance Services are located on a fulltime basis in Sapphire. The Gemfields is classified as remote and is a designated Remote Area Incentive Nursing Package (RANIP) site.

About the role:

Gemfields Primary health care clinic requires a casual Nurse Grade 3 (Enrolled Nurse) who supports a Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife in the provision of person-centred care as specified by registration requirements, Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia (NMBA) standards and codes, educational preparation, relevant legislation, and context of care.

This presents an excellent opportunity to develop your rural / remote nursing skills under the guidance of a small friendly team.

About you:

  • Current qualification as an Enrolled Nurse
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • While not mandatory, experience in Emergency Department, Aged Care, complex wound management, and phlebotomy is highly desirable.

What we offer:

  • An hourly rate between $44.18 - $46.89 p.h. (incl 25% casual loading)
