About the role:
The Senior Medical Officer (Palliative Care) will provide:
- Inpatient community and consultative specialist Palliative Care Services for Emerald Hospital and the surrounds.
- Professional leadership to staff across the Central Highlands and to be an active contributor to the multidisciplinary care team.
- Assist the organisation, management and provision of specialist clinical services in Palliative Care for CQ Health.
- Provide an advisory resource in palliative care to other rural doctors
- Maximise the effectiveness of specialist outreach and telemedicine services in Emerald and the Central Highlands communities.
About you:
- MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in General Practice with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA). This will require Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or Australia College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) with extensive experience in palliative medicine. While not mandatory, it will be highly regarded to have Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine.
- Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program with the appropriate bodies is mandatory.

Salary information:
Total remuneration value of up to $183,615 p.a. is comprised of:
- A salary rate between $72,842 - $100,611 p.a. (L13-L25)
- A salary rate between $72,842 - $75,120 p.a. (L13-L14)
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
