About us:

Blackwater Hospital is located 200kms west of the Queensland coastline. Blackwater Multipurpose Health Service (MPHS) is a busy rural 16 bed facility incorporating 4 aged care beds, providing acute inpatient, accident and emergency, pharmacy, outpatient and urgent radiology services to the community.

Visiting allied health services include podiatry, speech pathology and occupational therapy as well as adult and youth psychiatric services. Community health clinics include antenatal, dietetics, child health, diabetic, immunisation and women's health.

About the role:

A Clinical Nurse is a Registered Nurse, who is accountable at an advanced level, for the coordination of clinical practice. This position provides leadership and support to nursing and medical staff and supports the delivery of competent, best practice quality nursing care, while working in collaboration with the Director of Nursing.

  • Engage and encourage others to participate in quality improvement audits and incident reporting/investigations to minimise risk and promote safe work practices in the clinical and non-clinical environment.
  • Demonstrate advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, and expert planning and coordination skills in clinical management in the specific clinical environment.
  • Provides specialised nursing knowledge relevant to specific client population and function in complex situations while providing support and direction to all registered and non-registered nursing personnel.

About you:

The successful applicant must possess a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent.

  • Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position.

Emergency Nursing experience and Advanced Life Support qualifications highly desirable.

  • While note mandatory, it is highly desirable to have post-graduate qualifications in the clinical area of expertise.

What we offer:

Total monthly remuneration value of up to $8,099 p.m. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $54.44 - $58.30 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
