Grant Details

A one-off cash payment of $5,000 is paid in Semester 1, 2018.

About You

You must be an Australian or a New Zealand citizen, or a permanent resident in Australia, and have:

  • successfully completed Year 12 at a Queensland state or non-state school in 2017
  • obtained an Overall Position (OP) of between 1 and 6 (or equivalent)
  • commenced an initial teacher education program at a Queensland Higher Education Institution in Semester 1, 2018.

Your principal place of residence when you were completing Year 12, must fall within the catchment of a Queensland Government (State) School with a Transfer Rating (TR) of TR3 to TR7 as per the Department of Education School’s Directory.

Priority selection will be given to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and students who reside in drought affected areas in these rural or remote locations. Drought declared regions can be viewed on the drought situation map  provided by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.
