Grant benefits
Recipients' of the grant could be eligible for up to two grants between $750-$5000 to assist with travel and living expenses for placement/s and/or internship (placement/s) undertaken in a Queensland Government state school during 27 January and 25 June 2021.

Eligibility for the grant
To be eligible for a grant, candidates must:
- be currently enrolled in their second, third or fourth year of an undergraduate initial teacher education (ITE) program or their first or second year of a postgraduate ITE program at an Australian higher education institution
- be planning to undertake a placement/s on a Queensland Government state school campus that is located:
(a) at least 90 minutes travel each way from their primary residence, and
(b) within a priority region including Central Queensland, Darling Downs-South West, Far North or North Queensland, and - provide evidence of a valid Queensland Working with Children Blue Card with currency across the placement/s.
Placement/s undertaken in a Queensland Government state school located in a priority region (as noted above) with a transfer rating between 3 and 7 will receive priority.

- upload all of the following documentation*:
- Most recent unofficial academic transcript
- Confirmation of enrolment for Semester 1 2021 (if not shown on the unofficial academic transcript)
- Valid Queensland Working with Children Check Blue Card
- Proof of placement/s and/or internship.

Applications will be processed in the order they are received and the date of the placement..
Applications should be submitted six weeks before departure to allow for delays (if any). Submission of a late or incomplete application may result in a delayed or retrospective payment.
Payment of the grant
The grant is deposited as a lump sum by EFT into the recipients bank account four weeks (where possible) prior to departure providing the required documentation to initiate the payment has been provided
