About the Role
As the Principal Project Officer, your role will involve working with broad direction on tasks that are of a complex or specific nature and act accordingly, making decisions that impact on the business unit and may also have significant effects elsewhere within the department.
Your responsibilities and demonstrated capabilities will include:
- Implementing, monitoring and reporting on project activities for the Queensland Virtual Academy;
- Coordinating and working closely with the Queensland Virtual Academy Manager, Principal and the Director of Digital and Virtual Learning to develop briefing materials, submissions, correspondence, reports, presentations and publications, and providing project progress status updates to management and senior executives;
- Ensuring the development of materials for the Queensland Virtual Academy are of high quality and compliant with statewide policies, guidelines and practices;
- Providing support to the Manager to deliver the Queensland Virtual Academy evaluation plan and associated procurement activities;
- Developing and maintaining productive and positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the development, implementation and delivery of a range of projects and initiatives;
- Identifying and addressing areas of improvement with business processes, identifying issues or risks and making recommendations to the Manager to ensure procedures are implemented or modified and that business efficiency is maintained.
What you need to succeed
The ideal applicant will have the following key attributes:
- A strong understanding of project development, implementation, monitoring and reporting;
- Proven ability to manage projects and achieve required outcomes within set timeframes;
- Well-developed organisation and prioritisation skills;
- Well-developed skills in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
- Strong understanding of departmental policies, guidelines and practices; and
- Highly-developed written communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
