The Capability branch is in the State Schools Strategy Division. The Capability branch is committed to investing in professional expertise for a confident and professional workforce to deliver what matters for every student. A key function of the Capability branch is the Education Futures Institute (EFI) that delivers high-quality, targeted and evidence-informed capability development for a multi-disciplinary workforce.
The role of Senior System and Data Analyst is offered on a full-time temporary basis, until 31 December 2026, unless otherwise determined. This role is located in EFI Data and Systems team, Central Office, Brisbane CBD.
About the Role
This role is a pivotal member of the EFI team and provides essential technical support, data management and systems implementation which underpins our work in delivering high quality professional learning to empower a confident and professional workforce.
Key functions of this role include:
- Manage and maintain Capability branch training records, databases, and process information and prepare correspondence and associated reports.
- Ensure the accuracy, reliability and security of quality data sets required for analytical and reporting purposes including using R, SQL, SharePoint, Power BI and other reporting tools.
- Provide timely advice, statistical information and maintain a high degree of accuracy in data entry to ensure quality services that meet the needs of Capability Branch.
- Provide creative solutions and advice to ensure that all data visualization materials achieve their objectives and communicate effectively to their target audience.
The Senior System and Data Analyst reports to the Manager, Data and Systems team, Governance and Operations, Capability, EFI Central Office.
About You
The ideal applicants are individuals who demonstrate:
- Experience in learning data and systems in a large, complex organisation.
- Advanced skills in quantitative and qualitative data analysis, preferably in a capability program function.
- High level of written and verbal communication skills including with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
- Teamwork and who enjoy working collaboratively in a diverse, multidisciplinary team to deliver excellence and improved outcomes for education.
