About the Role:
Reporting directly to the Deputy Director-General, School and Regional Operations and Performance and working with some of Australia's best educational Ieaders, these positions have supervision of approximately 100 state schools and a diverse range of Early Childhood facilities. This is a fantastic opportunity to support strategic leadership of the Department's strategic direction and drive implementation of new system-wide initiatives within the region.
You will be joining the Department at an exciting time of transformational change that requires a strong focus on leadership, people development and the continuous improvement of educational outcomes for Queenslanders. This includes a strong focus on learning outcomes in state schools and supporting successful transition of children from home to early education and into school.
We are looking for visionary education professionals who have proven experience making a difference through leadership and measurable outcomes in the education space. The role will work closely with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders while representing and guiding each region to achieve its best results.

About You:
As a leader in Queensland Government, you will display outstanding judgement, high level integrity, strong agility to adapt to a constantly changing environment, a strong achievement orientation, and excellent communication and negotiation skills. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated capability as a system leader and have experience in leading initiatives with a strong focus on improved outcomes across educational settings.
What you will bring to the role:
- The position requires a person who will take personal responsibility for serving the government of the day and meeting the needs of the people and communities of Queensland. As an executive you will work towards a system of world class service delivery and public sector management.
- You will have strong professional leadership and management capabilities and a record of success as a leader in a large and complex organisation.
- You will have extensive experience across the public, private and/or not for profit sector and you will have a strong background in strategy and policy implementation, service delivery, and client service.
- You will have a strong understanding of the educational sector and experience leading strong performance outcomes for students and children.
- You will have a proven track record as an agent of change in challenging environments and in fostering a confident and capable workforce.
