The successful applicant will support the delivery of quality learning experiences by assisting teachers with classroom activities, preparing learning materials, supervising students, supporting small-group learning, and contributing to the welfare and safety of students.

This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.47FTE), 36 hours per fortnight.

About the Role

As a Teacher Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and students to deliver quality educational experiences. You will assist with classroom activities, prepare learning materials, and contribute to the welfare and safety of students in a collaborative and supportive school environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting teachers and students with classroom and sporting activities, as well as school excursions.
  • Preparing, managing, and stocktaking teaching materials and equipment.
  • Supporting small-group learning and assisting students with literacy and numeracy activities.
  • Maintaining anecdotal records to support student development and progress.
  • Contributing to the welfare, health, and safety of students, including providing first aid when required.

This role would suit someone who is reliable, empathetic, and passionate about supporting students to achieve their best in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

About You

The following traits would be beneficial:

  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with staff and students.
  • Experience in supporting small-group or individual learning activities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, tact, and sensitivity when working with students and families.
  • Basic administrative and organisational skills, including managing resources and maintaining records.
  • Empathy and respect for students with diverse needs, including those requiring additional support.
