Eimeo Road State School is seeking a passionate, compassionate community focused individual to build partnerships between families, the school and local support services.

We are seeking a dedicated and committed person to lead family support and engagement from Pre-Prep to Prep, and ongoing support for our families in a diverse community.

This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.6FTE), 43.5 hours per fortnight, with flexibility in actual days of work.

As part of the new Family Support Coordinator initiative Eimeo Road State School is seeking applications from someone who is passionate about supporting children and families to successfully transition from early childhood into school, establish positive patterns of attendance and link families to external government and non-government supports and services, and reduce barriers to learning.

Responsibilities include:

  • Build and sustain positive relationships and effective partnerships with students, parents, school staff, government agencies and community services and provide expert input into decision making processes to ensure optimum outcomes for children and their families.
  • Respond to individual needs of children, and their families and carers to provide support to transition to school, establish good patterns of attendance and behaviour and maintain engagement in learning.
  • Work with and support the needs of vulnerable children from diverse and complex backgrounds including First Nations, young persons with disabilities, and young persons in care.
  • Support family and carer capacity building to assist their child's learning, development and wellbeing, ongoing engagement in school, and assist the schools to respond to the complex needs of children and their families and carers.
