Carmila State School is seeking a dedicated and organised Temporary Business Manager to join our close-knit school community.

In this pivotal role, you will work directly with the Principal to support the effective governance of our school’s administration, workplace health and safety, and system management.

This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.66FTE), 48 hours per fortnight.

About the School

Established in 1923, Carmila State School is located in the Central Queensland Region and serves a vibrant community rich in history and tradition. With a focus on providing a comprehensive and inclusive education, the school caters to students from Prep to Year 6, offering a well-rounded curriculum that includes music, languages other than English (LOTE), and learning support. About the Role

As the Business Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and effective administrative management of the school. Reporting directly to the Principal, you will provide corporate services and administrative support while working within well-defined guidelines to address business-related challenges. This role is pivotal in maintaining the smooth day-to-day operations of the school, supporting both staff and students.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing daily office procedures, including reception, correspondence, and maintaining school records.
  • Supervising and managing school support staff, including recruitment, induction, and performance monitoring.
  • Assisting with budget preparation and overseeing financial matters such as accounts payable/receivable and reconciliations.
  • Coordinating school resources, facilities, and minor works, including asset management and maintenance.
  • Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and support school operations.

This role would suit a highly organised and proactive individual with a passion for supporting educational environments and a commitment to fostering a positive school community.

About You

The following traits would be beneficial:

  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
  • Experience in financial management, including budgeting and reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in administrative systems such as OneSchool or similar platforms.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving abilities and adaptability to manage change in a dynamic environment.
