About the Role
The Youth Support Coordinator will play a key role in supporting at-risk students to overcome barriers to education and achieve positive outcomes. Reporting to the Principal and the Regional Youth Support Coordinator, you will work collaboratively with students, families, and staff to foster engagement and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying barriers to student success and connecting students with appropriate support services.
- Providing individual support, case management, and group programs to enhance student engagement and wellbeing.
- Building strong relationships between the school, families, and the community to support at-risk students.
- Monitoring attendance patterns and implementing early intervention strategies to improve engagement.
- Developing and implementing programs to support students' social and emotional development.
About You
The following traits would be beneficial:
- Experience working with at-risk students or youth in an educational or community setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with students, families, and stakeholders.
- Ability to develop and deliver programs that support social and emotional wellbeing.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage casework and maintain accurate records.
- Knowledge of early intervention strategies and available support services for at-risk youth.
