Drayton State School is seeking a highly organised, proactive and collaborative Business Manager to join our leadership team.

This key role supports the effective operation of our school through strong financial, human resource and administrative management, while building positive relationships with staff, families and the wider community.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates initiative, professionalism and a commitment to supporting our school to achieve Honour and Success for every student.

About us:

Drayton State School is one of Queensland's oldest continuously operating schools, proudly celebrating 175 years of education in 2026.

Established in 1851 with just 24 students, our school has grown to approximately 180 students from Prep to Year 6. While our facilities have evolved, our strong connection to the local community, rich heritage and values of care, responsibility, teamwork and achievement remain at the heart of school life.

We are proud of our history and the generations of students who have helped shape Drayton State School into the welcoming community it is today.

Your opportunity:

  • Independently manage daily administrative and office functions, including reception, appointments, correspondence, record keeping and the use of OneSchool and other management systems.
  • Supervise and coordinate school support staff on a day-to-day basis, including monitoring workloads and performance, identifying capability needs and working with the Principal on performance matters.
  • Coordinate staffing administration, including the approval of timesheets and leave, staff rosters and relief arrangements, as well as the recruitment, induction and training of school support staff.
  • Support the Principal with school budget preparation and manage daily financial administration, including accounts payable and receivable, corporate card monitoring, reconciliations, banking and the input and export of financial data through OneSchool.
