An opportunity has become available for a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (Gynaecological Oncologist) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10,000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

About the role

Work as a certified gynaecologic oncologist in a team providing inpatient, outpatient and outreach care of gynaecological cancers and complex benign gynaecological conditions.

Requirements for the role

  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and Tuberculosis screening.
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed.
  • MBBS or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia plus FRANZCOG or equivalent acceptable to the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and registrable as a obstetrics and gynaecology specialist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Certificate of Gynaecologic Oncology (CGO) and registrable as a gynaecological oncologist with AHPRA.
  • Relevant qualification/s and registration must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
  • A demonstrated interest in rural health care and the care of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients is desirable.
  • The incumbent will be required to participate in the department's on-call roster for gynaecologic oncology which includes after hours, weekend and public holiday cover.

Salary information

  • Permanent part time (48 hours per fortnight)
  • Estimated total remuneration up to $264,106 p.a., comprising:
    • Senior Staff Specialist - Base hourly rate from $108.18 - $114.69 p.h
    • Staff Specialist - Base hourly rate from $90.46 – $105.07 p.h
  • Up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
