The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Nurse Educator (Newborn Care) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Lead and support a culture of ongoing learning and workforce development
- Coordinate education, research and quality improvement initiatives
- Support ethical decision making to achieve individual and team learning and development
- Facilitate the role development of others by succession planning and mentoring
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- A Masters or higher qualification within a relevant area is highly desirable
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $132,562 - $143,924 per annum
About Us
The Newborn Care Unit (NCU) at Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH) is currently funded to operate 12 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and 24 Special Care Nursery (SCN) cots. All babies are cared for in single family rooms. GCUH delivers 5500 babies per year with a similar number of births at the NCU referral units around the Gold Coast and northern NSW. The NCU functions at Level 6 in the Clinical Service Capability Framework for Neonatal Services Queensland.
