The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Nurse Educator (Community Child Health) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Lead and support a culture of ongoing learning and workforce development
  • Coordinate and deliver the statewide Transition to Specialty Practice Program
  • Plan, develop, implement and evaluate learning and development activities
  • Facilitate role development through succession planning, role modelling, and mentoring
  • Participate in educational and professional nursing networks, work groups, and organisations 

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent  
  • Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Permanent full time
  • Base salary ranging from $132 562 - $ 143 924 per annum

The Community Child Health Early Childhood Services are based upon the National Universal Early Childhood Services Framework and in accordance with the National Health and Medical Research Council guidelines and the Family Partnerships Model of Care, with the aim of early identification and intervention of child health and development issues. The services offer a combination of universal and targeted services dependent upon clinical need and family accessibility. Individualised client focused services are provided in either home visiting or centre-based formats from ten (10) facilities across the Gold Coast from Coomera Springs in the North to Coolangatta in the South.
