The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Lung Cancer) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Ensure best practice cancer care, facilitating outcomes consistent with evidence-based guidelines
- Provide education and information to patients and their families throughout their treatment journey
- Opportunity for a leadership role in the multidisciplinary cancer team
- Participate in quality improvement activities and service development relevant to the role
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent Part time (60 hrs p.f.).
- Base salary ranging from $66.85 - $72.58 per hour.
About Us
The Specialist Cancer Nursing Team - Lung Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is a senior level clinician who is responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise for the planning and coordination of complex cancer care, along with the provision of advance cancer care knowledge, education and support to patients with cancer and their carers/families.
The Lung CNC will work directly with patients undergoing treatment, ensuring timely and appropriate access and referral to services across the care continuum. The position will operate within the multidisciplinary model of cancer care and work in partnership with service providers in acute and community settings, promoting cancer awareness and principles of evidence based best practice.
