The Role
An opportunity has become available for an Occupational Therapist - Senior (Mental Health – Melaleuca Inpatient Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Participate in and contribute to the development of an integrated multidisciplinary approach to mental health care while working with appropriate clinical autonomy
- Deliver high level Occupational Therapy clinical services across clinical areas including assessment, intervention and evaluation
- Apply professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence
- Undertake high level holistic care with consumers who have or may have a mental illness including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation within a recovery/rehabilitation framework
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy
- AHPRA Registration
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $128 169 - $137 918 per annum
About Us
The Acute Adult Mental Health Unit at Gold Coast University Hospital provides a specialised inpatient program that is delivered by a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals led by Consultant Psychiatrist.
The Acute Inpatient Unit provides short to medium term voluntary and involuntary care to consumers who exhibit signs and/or symptoms of serious mental illness or suspected that have not responded adequately to less intensive interventions in the community.
