The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Senior Registrar or Registrar (Gastroenterology Hepatology fellow) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

 You will

  • Fulfil responsibilities of this role in accordance with Queensland Public Service and Gold Coas Hospital and Health Service values
  • Adhere to the requirements for personal attributes and work ethics are in accordance with the Code of Conduct for all Queensland Public Service Workers 2011
  • Demonstrate Clinical duties and responsibilities will be in between those of an advanced gastroenterology trainee and a consultant gastroenterologist and involve outpatient, ward based and procedure based care
  • Involve in research with the aim of completing at least one publication within the year

 About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Bachelor of Medicine or recognised equivalent qualification
  • AHPRA Registration
  • The Hepatology Fellow will have completed their three years of core gastroenterology training and be eligible for medical registration in Australia
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

 Salary

  • Temporary full time (up to 12 months)
  • Base salary ranging from $129 583 - $150 240 per annum (Registrar) or $165 257 - $182 106 per annum (Senior Registrar)

 About Us

The department of Gastroenterology currently has 23 Consultants, 2 Advanced Trainees and 4 Fellow positions. The department has three core subspecialities:  Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Endoscopy and Hepatology, along with a comprehensive general Gastroenterology and Nutritional service
