The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse (Medical Specialist Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

• Provide direct patient care to patients within the Specialty Medical Unit (SMU) while supporting all staff as required
• Lead a Quaility and Safety portfolio
• Collaborate with the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) in providing evidence-based care and streamlining patient flow
• Act as an expert resource person for other staff, patients and families

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent  
• Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

• $54.44 - $58.30 per hour

About Us

The Specialist Medical Unit provides a diverse range of medical services for Robina Hospital. Specialist Medical Unit Robina consists of 24 single rooms and has the additional capacity to provide for fixed cardiac monitoring, respiratory isolation and bariatric specific care. Specialist Medical Unit works closely with the Clinical Measurements Department, providing nursing support for Transoesophageal Echocardiography, Dobutamine Stress Echocardiogram and Tilt Table Testing. Specialist Medical Unit sits within the division of Medicine under General Medicine.
